Chandrayaan-2 to Leave Earth Orbit Tomorrow

The Bengaluru-headquartered space office has said it will complete the move called Trans Lunar Insertion (TLI) somewhere in the range of 03:00am and 04:00am (IST).

“At around 3.30 am on August 14, we will have a move called trans-lunar infusion. By this move, the Chandrayaan-2 will leave the earth and move towards the moon.

On August 20, we will arrive at the moon,” ISRO Chairman K Sivan said on Monday. ”

The ISRO has so far performed five earth-bound circle raising moves.

India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, GSLV MkIII-M1, effectively propelled the 3,840-kg Chandrayaan-2 shuttle into the world’s circle on July 22.
